A Devotional for Challenging Times: Held in the Storm
Life isn’t always easy. There are seasons when challenges come one after another, when hope feels distant, and the weight of worries feels heavy on your heart. In these times, it’s important to remember: You are not alone.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.”
— Isaiah 43:2
God promises His presence even in the toughest storms. He doesn’t always calm the waters right away, but He promises to hold you steady, carrying you through when you can’t stand on your own.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
It’s okay to feel tired, to have doubts, and to cry out for help. God welcomes your honesty. He invites you to bring your burdens to Him and find rest in His loving arms.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
Remember, difficult seasons don’t last forever. They shape us, teach us, and prepare us for the new things God has in store. Hold on to hope, even if it’s just a tiny flicker. God is working, even when it’s hard to see.
Closing Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for being with me in the hard times. When I feel overwhelmed or alone, remind me that You are holding me close. Help me to trust You even when the future is uncertain. Give me peace in the storm and hope for the days ahead.
Amen.
